COMMUNITY CONNECT
Mission: To develop responsible citizens who can be harbingers of change in the society
The community outreach initiatives at IMT Hyderabad started off in 2011 by PAHEL a volunteer student
cell. The Community Connect Cell was established in 2018, with the objective of sensitizing the students
towards the society so as to bring about positive change in the communities and address real life
societal challenges.
The Cell has envisaged its activities under the
following four headings of Abhiyaan, Nirmaan,
Sahayam and Sambbad towards fulfilment of its
Daaitva (Responsibility)
Some of the initiatives undertaken
- Around 25 villages in the Samshabad Mandal were surveyed as part of baseline survey to identify the key challenges. The survey was conducted by teams of first year students who interacted with the villagers to understand their issues in areas like health, education, employability and infrastructure.
- Twenty students worked with NGO’s like GMRVF, Tharuni, BVIC over two terms on projects like Social Media fund raising Campaigns, generating B2B selling opportunities for products made by rural artisans, analyzing learning effectiveness of skill training programs.
- IIEMS First Aid Medical Training Workshop was conducted for students and faculty
- Drives were conducted by PAHEL including blood donation, fund raisers, Haritha haram (Plantation) and visits to schools
