75th Republic Day Celebrations
Hyderabad, 26th January 2024: IMT Hyderabad witnessed a radiant display of patriotism and cultural fervor as the institute celebrated the 75th Republic Day on 26th January 2024. The hosts announced the commencement of the event with an inaugural parade led by the security personnel, setting the stage for a day filled with reflection and celebration.
The ceremony unfolded with the unfurling of the national flag by Prof. (Dr.) V C Chakrapani, Dean Academics, IMT Hyderabad. The National Anthem resonated through the hearts and minds of all present, evoking a deep sense of collective pride and reverence.
In his address, Prof. (Dr.) V C Chakrapani spoke with heartfelt emotions, commending the sacrifices and triumphs that shaped India's democratic journey. His insightful talk on the Indian Constitution captivated the audience, diving deep into the fundamental principles of sovereignty, liberty, equality, and democracy that formed the bedrock of our nation. He urged everyone present not just to celebrate these values but to actively re-take their vows and commit themselves to upholding them in their daily lives.
The highlight of the event was the insightful speech delivered by a student who eloquently recounted the journey of the Indian Constitution's formation and the significant milestones that shaped its creation. It was a sentimental reminder of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters to secure the democratic fabric of our nation.
The cultural performances that followed served as a vibrant expression of the collective spirit among the students on campus. IMT Hyderabad's cultural club – Antragna, along with the performing teams - Team Dhanak, Team Dhwani, and Team Navrang, captivated the audience with their mesmerizing performances, showcasing the richness and diversity of India's cultural tapestry.
Before the ceremony came to a close, the Sports Club of IMT Hyderabad, Altius, recognized the winners of IHL Cricket 10.0. Prof. (Dr.) Pushpesh Pant, Mentor of Altius Club, awarded Team Phoenix and Team Mavericks for their winner and runner-up positions, respectively. He encouraged and appreciated the hard work and sportsmanship displayed by all the teams who participated in the tournament.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the shared values and aspirations that bind us as a nation, inspiring everyone to contribute to building a stronger and more united India.
