IMT Hyderabad, 31st August 2024: Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad had the honour of welcoming Mr. Mussarat Hussain, Head of Human Resources at Suzuki Research & Development India (SRDI), a distinguished HR leader with over 35 years of experience, for an engaging and informative session. The session focused on “Managerial Skills for Effectiveness – Meeting Corporate Expectations (MCE)” and was organized as part of IMT Hyderabad’s commitment to offering students exposure to industry leaders and cutting-edge HR practices. Mr. Hussain, who is currently pursuing his PhD at IILM Gurgaon, has held key positions at leading organizations such as Maruti Suzuki India Limited, KHD Humboldt, and HEG Limited, bringing a wealth of knowledge in HR strategy, leadership, and corporate management.
During the session, the speaker shared his expertise on the significance of competencies in HR, highlighting how they serve as the “DNA” of an organization. He elaborated on the process of competency mapping and its vital role in performance management, job descriptions, and succession planning. His insights underscored the critical role of people in organizational success, emphasizing that strong company cultures and competent leadership are essential for navigating challenges and achieving long-term goals.
The session also covered the importance of emotional intelligence, soft skills, and the alignment of HR processes with business strategy. Mr. Hussain’s practical examples from his extensive career provided students and faculty with actionable insights into modern HR practices.
An interactive Q&A session followed, allowing participants to explore the topics in greater depth.
