Institute of Management Technology (IMT) – Hyderabad hosted the 4th Marketing Conference on Emerging Market (MCEM) – 2020 on 17 and 18 January. The conference was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp and Ganesh Vandana. Inaugural address was given by Dr. M. Venketeswarlu, Director IMT Hyderabad. This was followed by conference address by the Chief Guest - Prof.(Dr.) Mithileshwar Jha, Chairman, Board of Governors, IMT-Hyderabad. Prof. Jha enlightened the audience with his deep insights on the various marketing aspects prevalent in the Indian market. Prof. Jha also took a special session for the students on ‘Branding in Digital Era”.
The first day of the conference had a Pre-Conference Workshop on 'Publishing in top ranking Journals' by Dr. Sanjit Kumar Roy, Associate Professor, University of Western Australia. His insights about developing research papers and getting them published in the top ranking journals were greatly appreciated by the audience, which comprised of research scholars and faculty members.
The second day of the conference started with the keynote address by Prof. Bhimrao Ghodeswar, Professor of Marketing (Retd. from NITIE Mumbai) on various aspects of contemporary marketing. This was followed by research paper presentations by research scholars and faculty members from across India. Nearly 30 papers were presented in the conference. The papers were spread across four tracks - The digital revolution in emerging markets, Consumption trends & behavior, Environment/ sustainability issues, and Strategies for emerging markets. The conclusion of the conference was done with a valedictory session, which included vote of thanks by Conference Chair – Prof. (Dr.) Sivagnanasundaram and Prof. (Dr.) Rambalak Yadav, followed by the distribution of certificates to the conference participants.
