Leadership Series by Mr. Sudipto Mukherjee
IMT Hyderabad, 17th Jan 2024: Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad, organized a Leadership Series featuring Mr. Sudipto Mukherjee, Managing Director and Country Head Berkadia, for a captivating discourse on his career journey.
The session commenced with a gracious welcome and introduction of Mr. Sudipto Mukherjee, a distinguished personality with an exceptional track record in his role as the Managing Director and Country Head at Berkadia.
Mr. Sudipto initiated the session by emphasizing the importance of effectively managing with disappointment. He encouraged the students to identify opportunities aligned with their strengths. While providing advice on the importance of maintaining a work-life balance, he highlighted the significance of knowing when to ‘switch off.’ He stated that we all would reach a moment in our lives when our jobs would be taxing, and we need to learn when to switch off.
Delving into the topic of fostering leadership qualities, Mr. Mukherjee asserted that individual success is defined by the success of one’s team. He also stressed the concept of the evolving nature of power, noting that formerly, power resided with those possessing knowledge, but nowadays, it is wielded by people who can inculcate curiosity for knowledge.
Speaking about Berkadia’s unique organizational culture, he remarked that its culture is the fundamental thing that differentiates Berkadia from other organizations. Emphasizing this further, he quoted a renowned management thinker, Peter Drucker, stating, “The culture eats strategy for breakfast.”
Mr. Sudipto further delved into the values of planning and networking. At the same time, he advocated a more proactive approach, urging students to seize opportunities of growth whenever they arise, regardless of one’s predetermined plans.
After a successful session, Mr. Prakash Pathak, Head of Corporate Relations, IMT Hyderabad, expressed gratitude by presenting Mr. Sudipto Mukherjee with a memento, recognizing and appreciating his valuable insights.
