Kavi Sammelan
IMT Hyderabad, 21st August 2024: Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad, captivated its audience with a mesmerizing Kavi Sammelan. Organized to provide students with a refreshing break from their demanding schedules, the event was a testament to the power of poetry, featuring a lineup of talented poets who enthralled the crowd with their lyrical prowess and engaging performances.
The proceedings commenced with a melodious Saraswati Vandana, setting a serene and auspicious tone for the evening. Renowned author and poet Padmashri Dr. Sunil Jogi, whose introductory poems ignited a spark of enthusiasm in the auditorium, served as the master of ceremonies.
Mr. Rajesh Kumar Agarwal, a literary advisor for the monthly magazine ‘Vaishya Bharti’ and a lecturer on finance and human resources at esteemed institutions like ICMAI, ICICI, PMTI NTPC, and ASCI, delivered thought-provoking verses that questioned the prevailing societal conditions, such as the sorrowful incident at RG Kar Medical College. His performance resonated deeply with the audience, leaving them captivated by his insightful commentary. Ms. Sapna Soni Dausa who has written the famous book titled 'Mann Ka Jharna,' dedicated to her daughter, followed with a spellbinding display of poetic artistry. Her skillful wordplay and evocative imagery touched the hearts of all attendees. The audience was enthralled by her ability to convey profound emotions through her verses.
Sardar Manjit Singh, a celebrated humourist and former officer in the Haryana education department, was the next poet to take the stage who brought a touch of humour and satire to the event. His witty and satirical verses had the audience in stitches, while his patriotic poems evoked a sense of pride and unity.
The event concluded with a soulful song by Dr. Sunil Jogi, which the audience joined in singing with gusto. Anjali Bhadra, a first-year student, delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the participants and organizers.
As a token of appreciation, the poets were presented with mementos by Prof. (Dr.) Tulika Sharma, Prof. (Dr.) Krishna Dixit, and Prof. Rona Elizabeth Kurian. The Kavi Sammelan at IMT Hyderabad was an unforgettable and joyous event, where the beauty and power of poetry were celebrated with great enthusiasm. The evening was filled with laughter and smiles, leaving the audience thoroughly entertained.
