The Role of a Management Graduate in a Technology Organization

IMT Hyderabad, 23rd July 2025: Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Hyderabad, had the privilege of hosting Ms Vimlesh Ankur, Senior Delivery Director Enterprise Applications at Infosys, for an insightful session on “The Role of a Management Graduate in a Technology Organization.” Accompanied by Mr Kireet Nuthalapati, Practice Lead - Talent Acquisition, Mr Abhishek Singh, Senior Lead - Talent Acquisition and Ms A V Niharika, Associate Lead - Talent Acquisition, the session gave students a comprehensive look into Infosys' vision, work culture, and career opportunities.

Ms Niharika opened the session by introducing Infosys as a global IT leader that began in 1981 and has grown into an innovation-driven company. She highlighted the organization’s strong foundation on three employee pillars: building the next generation of talent, ensuring careers never stagnate, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. Infosys supports innovation through platforms like Topaz (AI) and Cobalt (cloud tech).

Ms Vimlesh Ankur, with nearly 30 years of experience, explained Infosys’ consulting, ERP (Oracle), and tech services across sectors like manufacturing, retail, and finance. She detailed the hybrid work model, emerging roles like Scrum Master and Data Agility, and the company’s emphasis on soft skills, communication, and logical thinking over just technical coding. She also introduced employee tools like Lex and Spin Board for internal upskilling. Mr Kireet elaborated on Infosys’ recruitment of MBA graduates as Assistant Consultants. Mr Abhishek shared his journey and work-life insights.

The session ended with an interactive quiz and a lively Q&A, where students asked about AI-driven roles, consulting career paths, skill expectations, and work-life balance at Infosys. All queries were addressed with clarity and encouragement.
