Hyderabad, June 21st, 2021: Institute of Management Technology, Hyderabad inaugurated “ABHYUDAY,” the Management Orientation Program for the 11th batch of PGDM students, on the 21st of June, 2021. Abhyuday means a beginning, like a rising sun full of energy representing the students’ dedication and commitment. The ceremony began with the garlanding of Shri. Mahendranath’s Statue. The event proceeded with Prof. Dhananjay Singh extending a warm welcome to the students and commended them for having the courage to take such a huge step in their career in these uncertain times. He then briefed them by providing an overview of the opportunities available to the students over the next two years. The Saraswati Vandana was then rendered to invoke the goddess Saraswati.
Following that, Prof. (Dr.) Sourabh Bhattacharya, Chairperson - Admissions, presented an encapsulated view of the Management Orientation Program. He began by describing the dynamics of the batch in terms of its diversity. He mentioned that the incoming batch is one of the most diversified batches in the history of IMT Hyderabad since its inception. The batch comprised 40 percent, female students. The 11th batch constitutes students from over 25 states representing the college as a ‘Mini India.’ The batch consists of 31% commerce graduates, 39% engineering graduates, and the rest from management or humanities background. Only 32% of the students had previous corporate experience making most of the batch freshers. He then exemplified that the motive to conduct such a unique program is to bring all the students on the same platform before their regular classes began. He elaborated on the classroom sessions, distinguished speaker series, and the faculty processes that the institute follows, keeping in mind the industry changes and its requirements, trends, and the role of students in it. Finally, he explained their contribution in the academic areas and the offices, departments, and other centers.
The program then was addressed by the PGP Chairperson, Prof. (Dr.) Venkata Chakrapani C, who addressed the batch by elucidating the two-year PGDM program. He also elaborated further about the subjects, the specializations, electives, the cafeteria policies followed by the institute, the workshops on emerging areas of technology and business, and finally about the immersion programs and other industry-led courses.
The students were privileged to be addressed by Dean (Academics) and Director Designate, Prof. (Dr.) Sriharsha Reddy’s vision and thoughts on nurturing the institute and how the various entities of the institute will work together to realize the management’s goals, thereby assisting the students in beginning their journey. He congratulated the students and enlightened them on the importance of transforming themselves as socially responsible & successful business leaders by making maximum use of the resources provided by the institute.
The guest of honor, Shri Sayan Roy, Managing Director, B Bruan (Thailand) Ltd, established a connect with the students through his motivational speech and a round of applause. He discussed various real-life corporate scenarios such as company expectations, the importance of diversity, conflicts, and case studies at large. He also shared some success strategies and encouraged the students to be passionate, authentic, inspired, and effort-oriented.
The inaugural program for the class of 2023 concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Prakash Pathak, Head of Corporate Relations and Placements. The program was a complete delight and proved to be a huge success, with the students gaining great insights from it. IMT Hyderabad welcomes the new batch and wishes them a fulfilling & enriching experience in the coming two years.
