Independence Day Celebration “VIKSHIT BHARAT 2047”
Hyderabad, 15th August 2024: The air was alive with a vivid sense of patriotism and unity as IMT Hyderabad marked the 78th Independence Day with unflagging spirit and fervency. The festivities began with an energetic parade, expertly managed by our devoted security team, establishing a mood of reflection and celebration for the day. Prof. (Dr.) Sriharsha Reddy, Director of IMT Hyderabad, honoured us with his presence. The ceremonial hoisting of the national flag by Prof. Reddy, complemented by the solemn rendition of the National Anthem was a deeply respectful tribute to our nation's core values.
Addressing the audience, Prof. Reddy embraced the vibrant tapestry of our diverse cultures, cherished the depth and richness of our shared heritage. Reflecting on 77 years of independence, he highlighted that the freedom we enjoy today is the culmination of a century of sacrifices made by valiant freedom fighters. The enduring struggle has forged the liberties we hold dear.
Highlighting revealing similarities, Prof. Reddy mentioned that our freedom is compromised by habits of procrastination and the distractions of certain vices, many of which could be easily avoided. He shared some real-life examples to help students grasp the major challenges faced since independence.
The theme for this year’s celebration, “Vikshit Bharat 2047”, the Government’s vision to transform the country into a developed entity by its 100th independence in 2047 resonated strongly throughout the event. This 78th Independence Day, Prof. Reddy urged the students to take a resolution to be free from habits that hinder progress and are detrimental to achieving “Vikshit Bharat”.
The celebrations reached their peak with mesmerizing performances from IMT Hyderabad's cultural club - Antragna, Team Dhanak, Team Dhwani, and Team Navrang. The outstanding performances beautifully embodied India’s rich cultural heritage, leaving a lasting impact on the audience and enhancing the grandeur of the 78th Independence Day festivities at IMT Hyderabad.
