Compensation Management

This program will focus on providing you with an understanding of a comprehensive compensation program, the process and techniques of wage and salary determination, issues and problems in compensation-based incentive systems, benefits and services provided by organizations to its employees, and the management of these programs. We will integrate the strategic, behavioral, and technical principles for identifying and designing compensation systems that will add the most value to an organization. This will be accomplished by presenting a systematic framework that is based on a foundation of compensation research, relevant theories and actual organizational experiences.


Upon successful completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Design and maintain a pay system that is consistent for employees within the organization (internal consistency).
  • Design a pay structure that will ensure the firm is competitive with other similar firms (external competitiveness), and conduct a market survey to determine appropriate pay levels.
  • Develop skills in formulating compensation policy, systems and strategies.
  • Identify and describe a variety of reward systems used to determine individual pay levels.
  • learn some of the implications for strategic compensation and possible employer approaches to managing legally required benefits.

This program will be beneficial for all the working professionals especially HR professionals and the academicians who handle the course on compensation in their institutions.

This is a 15-week, weekend program held once a year during September to December. The program is designed to enable participants to learn the concepts through hands on experience.

After Successful completion of the program, the participants will be awarded with “Certificate Program in Compensation Management” Certificate by IMT, Hyderabad.

The program would be conducted only on Saturdays through 3 hours sessions without disturbing your professional work.


Fees: Rs. 45,000/- + Applicable taxes per participant.

(The class should have minimum student strength of 10 students).

Prof. (Dr.) Pavan Kumar Balivada (Assistant Professor, HR, IMT Hyderabad)

Well over a decade, Dr. Balivada has been involved in academics, training & consultancy in prestigious organizations including IIM Raipur & IMT Hyderabad. This comprehensive experience has given him deep insights in various fields like compensation management emotional intelligence, work related attitudes and leadership on which he delivers various MDP programs to government and other reputed organizations. He has handled programs for National Industrial Security Academy, Hyderabad, District Collectors and PDS officers of Chhattisgarh, and agricultural officers in Odisha. A Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur, he has been awarded with a gold medal in 2008 for best management thesis of the year in IIT Kharagpur. He teaches various specialized subjects in Human resources like performance management, compensation management, learning & development, and International HRM. He is also a very active member in many international and national journals as reviewer and editor.
